Ownership or partnership?
Today, I have something quick to say to young and aspiring business owners. It focuses on ownership and partnership. My question is, which should you focus on as a business owner?
Ownership or Partnership?
And my quick response is here this;
In building your business empire, take note of this:
It is not about ownership; it is about partnership.
It is not about having the best team under your belt saying welcome sirs but having the right people with the right mindset in your organization.
You need people that would carry the business like it is theirs. They are your partners in business, though, they are just an employee – so to speak. It is the way you treat them that’d determine the level of seriousness on the job.
In leadership, take note that you don’t have to command people to act, but instead, you need to inspire them to give their best. And one of the best way to do that is by letting them see themselves as partner (a stakeholder), not an employee.
How you view them matters a LOT!
If they are to you as a mere employee of your company, they would hardly rise up to the task of becoming an advocate of the brand. But when you treat them and make them see themselves as a stakeholders in the business, they work to the best of their abilities because it is all about partnership for excellence.
Human brain are wired to react to situation of things pushed at them.
When you make people feel among, they act so. When they aren’t, they act otherwise.
It is a general issue that has been on for centuries. You have to master the act of creating value chain in your organization. When you do, the result will tell on your performance sheet.
I believe you’ve gotten the idea? If you are in business as partners, the word ownership has to be erased and replaced with partnership.
Partnership will make your brand stay effective and competitive even after you’ve gone. Ownership on the other hand would divide the company even while you are still alive – because they (your employees) never own the brand!
Action Point:
Begin from today to lower your ego and be on the same page at least, for once in your life as the boss.
Try to be a leader, and not the boss for once.
You will enjoy the outcome of that little change of attitude.
Master this act today and enjoy your ride to the arena!

Getting Close?
Happy new month of June! We are getting close to the end of this year. The countdown is already on!
Either you want to believe it or not, before you know it, the EMBER months will jump into the conversation.
What next? The new year 2019, BOOM!
BUT,
I am concerned about you!
Yes, you!
Remember what you told yourself this time last year? Though, I wasn’t there when you were making those promises but I could relate you want to;
- stop smoking
- start your new business
- stop giving a shit about your life
- start building your relationship
- stop losing by winning massively from all sides
- build your own dream home by this time
- travel with your family and go see new and beautiful places around the world.
But, I’m sad to hear that you haven’t done most of those things. In fact, you’ve done otherwise most of the things you detested (just like Apostle Paul puts it that he do those things he wasn’t actually proud of, whereas the things he is proud of, he couldn’t do those for the flesh is controlling him.)
I’m sad to know you are already giving up on those beautiful dreams and goals because of stresses and pressure of life – but you’ve forgotten that Life Drama was a song by Abolore Akande (aka 9ice), which detailed challenges you’ve got to undergo for your name to be written in gold.
My brother, I have a good news for you!
You are getting close to achieving those things you have, or almost, given up on, I’m certain and sure of that. You don’t need to let the situations around you drain out your motivation from going forward.
Failure is great teacher – they teaches us how not to fail woefully in our next attempts. You are getting close to launching that business project. Oh, that lady didn’t accept your proposal of friendship which would later leads into marriage? And you want to kill yourself?
Don’t be bothered about that, rebrand your self packaging and the manner of approach. Be resilient in your approach because you are getting close to getting your YES!
YESes are available and obtainable for those who can try, try again, try another time again, try once more time and again and again until they get what they are seeking for.
I want to challenge you to fail forward and push harder. Revisit those great ideas because the time to execute them without apology is now, and never!
You are way too close to the prize than to go back to your comfort zone.
Common, get yourself together and TRY once more time. But this time, one thing that’s certain is, winning is inevitable!
You are a winner!

Simplifying Greatness – It is a Marathon with a Baton to Pass on to Others!
“What is greatness?”
“What does greatness mean to you?”
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve asked myself this question.
The reason why it took me a while to articulate my response is because, the end goal is to share it with you.
Having an idea in your head is one thing. Expressing it on paper or, in this case, your device is an entirely different thing.
I wanted to share my sincere view about true greatness without trying to be politically correct or “deep, sir”.
I believe in simple truths. However there is a thin line between simplifying a concept and watering it down, thereby making it lose its pure essence.
With that in mind, here is my answer in its purest form.
“True greatness is living for others, in others, and through others.”
Let me explain.
As you can see from the simple definition, there are three parts to greatness.
We are all familiar with the first part. As a matter of fact, that is the politically correct definition we see all the time. Let’s be honest; we say them, too.
“I just want to serve the world.”
“I started this business because my heart aches for my people.”
“I’m going into this position because I can’t bear seeing you suffer.”
“Please let me help you do it because I love you. Just pay for the equipment”We’ve seen it over and over again. It is not new. We all have our versions of it. We have all learnt to create a mantra for ourselves.
Something light.
Something nice to the ears.
As far as I’m concerned, this is just one part of greatness. Whether people are sincere with this approach to life or not, it is still one part. Very important part, but one part nonetheless.
I don’t have to tell you.
33% is still very poor in Academics. In life, it is even poorer. Your head is barely out of the water. There is so much more to greatness. And we shall explore it together.
The Interpretation
Here you are in this room.
A delegate in a foreign country.
You are sitting at a table with 3 other men, having an important conversation. They all speak the same language. A language you understand. A language that isn’t your own.
One of the 3 looked at you. He suggested he’ll explain things to you in your own native language later.
The second person told them not to worry. He had heard you speak their language earlier, even if not fluently. You can manage.
The third man paused. He looked at you straight in the eyes, looked at his other fellows and said,
“Let’s just speak his language so that he could easily understand and also contribute to the discussion.”
Be honest. Who just made your day?
Of course!
Just like the above scenario, living for others is like suggesting to interpret later. Of course, it is way ahead of just saying “they will manage.”
However, nothing beats being spoken to in the language you natively speak and understand.
Beyond living for others (usually a masked form of sympathy), the world bows to those who can empathize and live in other people’s world.
A lot of people try to live for others. What they end up doing is trying to push their way on others. The problem here is that it simply doesn’t work.
While everyone could see how hard you are trying to help, the problem is that the effect of your effort is dampened.
Everyone needs help. For them to take it, though, they need to trust you. How do you get from a total stranger to someone they can trust?
One way is to simply live for others. Give yourself as a living sacrifice. People will know you, like you and trust you. Maybe.
Or you can go one step further. Live in others.
See things from their point of view, even if you don’t agree. Feel their pains. Put yourself in other people’s shoes.
They won’t only know you, like you, and trust you. They will also know deeply that you know them and get them.
It is not about cursing the darkness. Greatness is about entering the darkness and shining the light.
X-Men Faction
Remember the X-Men?
The fictional mutants who graced our TV screens. Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Wolverine…
Wolverine!
Our favourite. Strong and skillful. Oh, the things he did with his claws!
But then, he was just one man.
The benefit of being an individual is that you can do your own thing. The downside is that there is a limit to what you can do.
Guess where the real power was.
On the wheelchair.
Professor.
The leader of the X-Men. Even though he rarely “stepped” out of the house, he was everywhere.
If there was a great quality he had, it was more than the generousity to offer help. It was the humility to ask for it.
To be great, darling, you need help. There is no way around it. I know. The “one-man-army” thing feels great.
However, like anything done alone, there is a big limit to it.
Of course, don’t be a leach. You can’t receive where you’ve not given. That’s why the first two stages of greatness focus on giving.
Living through others is about releasing part of your life or business and surrendering it to others who can help you run abroad with it.
(Not just anybody, darling. You know better than that. Do your due diligence.)
Great ideas don’t die with the originator. Great businesses don’t die with the founders.
Do homes collapse at the death of the head?
Is it not interesting that, to be a person of influence, you have to let go of some control?
Yet, this is life.
There is a reason why the world richest men don’t run a one-man business. There is a reason why the greatest men on earth have comrades and disciples.
Greatness is not a one-man show.
Granted, you need to find your own footing before inviting others on your journey. However, to go far, there must be a release at some point.
Let me say it simply.
Here is the ultimate test of greatness.
It must reach where you can’t. It must live long after you’re gone.
Greatness is a marathon. Not a sprint.
Greatness is a baton. Pass it on.

Make Noise or Go Extinct
Shout or be shouted at…the choice is always yours. Remind yourself everyday about the reality of this crazy market place where noise making is bae.
It is either you talk to someone about your product and services or someone else talks to you about theirs.
Everybody is busy selling one thing or the other. The market is crowded with options for onlookers and you have to win part of those attention for your business to take a new step up north.
You are in the market to make money, so you either shout or be shouted at, the big chance is, when you shout at someone with something in your hand at somewhere at a particular point in time, you have a higher chance of getting your desired results from the action than when they shouted at you.
When you shout, exchange of value takes place at your favor, but when someone else’s shout overshadowed yours, you lose money to them.
It is normal law of nature. Make noise and never be afraid to shout out loud with #LoudNoise because it is your turn to get some #accolades. You deserved the kinda attention coming your way.

Miracle Awaits You
Hear this…Miracle Awaits You In This Month of May
Glory be to God for seeing us through to the last day of the month of April which was tagged April-FULLNESS in my last month post.
In the next couple of hours, we will enter the month of MAY, the fifth month of the year 2018.
You and I know that it is my custom to do a month entry write-up to charge or you in, and into the new month. I do this regularly to achieve nothing so special for myself than to push you to go hunt your dreams.
I want you to know that;
Your dreams are real
If you think it is not so big thing after all, you’re kinda lying to yourself. I couldn’t force you to see your dreams bigger than you do, but I do believe you have a dream that’s bigger than the present YOU!
In all sincerity, there’s need for growth in order to match the reality of your dreams.
Let me charge you this month of May to upgrade your dreams’ processor because miracle awaits you this month.
Miracle Awaits You
If no one believes in your dreams, it is not their fault. They are just quite unfortunate to see through your mirroring of yourself. You don’t have to pick up a fight because of that.
Hunt your dreams this month of May because miracle awaits you if you do.
The activation is all that we are eagerly waiting for. Activate your dreams and the world would be a great place to be because of your brightness.
