I know you’d want to be successful and achieve high level of greatness in life, business and marriage, but have you ever spent time to study how you can and will achieve the feat?

I stumbled upon an amazing video from Entrepreneur which I believe will help you channel your way to the greatness you mostly desired. So here are the 10 things entrepreneurs should never do to be truly successful.

Success will never come to entrepreneurs who do these 10 things regularly:

Be jealous or envious of other people’s success

If you are the type that beat yourself down everytime you see other people climaxing in their endeavours, you’ve got to check yourself. It could affect your being successful as an entrepreneur. You should always try to draw inspiration from other people’s success for you to do even better.

As an aspiring entrepreneur or business person, there should be an high level of inner motivation that will come out of you when you see someone else doing excellently well – this is YOU, telling that you can do better than that not as a competitor, but instead as a role model to competitors!

You can better your best if you see positives in other people’s achievements.

Focus your power on how to be your very best and not on negative energy and influences arriving from other people’s success stories.

Look back in the face of hard times, difficult situations and failure

You shouldn’t let bumps in the road stop your progress in life. You have a whole lot to achieve at the other end of the road, why would you get stucked on the past failures by looking back?

Find a way to maneuver around all obstacles on your way to the top. It is when you are able to do this that the whole world will celebrate you – people don’t celebrate cowards you know!

Keep moving forward, there’s more to life for you than to sit-back pondering on your failures and shortcomings.

You’ve got to move on because life never happens to those who look back, but those who forge ahead in spite of all odds!

Make Excuses about everything

Agreed, humans aren’t perfect, and in fact, we are meant to commit some kind of blunders at times – it is natural. But failing admit our mistakes and blunders have kept many going backward in their journey in life.

Would you continue to tell yourself the same old lies or be truthful to yourself by taking responsibility for your mistakes?

If something doesn’t work out as planned, don’t look for excuses – instead, find a way around fixing it by looking for the root cause of the problem.

Know what went wrong, where it went wrong, why it went wrong, and how you can fix it.

Assessing the problem will enable you to learn valuable lessons for doing it better next time.

Stop making excuses - learn from it and get back on the top.

Are you constantly making excuses for your mistakes?

Stop Learning

I once read a quote by Albert Einstein, he said “once you stop learning, you start dying,” and that’s the stone cold truth. You’ve got to keep on learning new things every single day of the week, of the month, and of the year. Don’t ever let a day go by you without learning something new in your business, marriage, ministry and life generally.

No matter how old you are, how much experience you’ve acquired in your field, how successful you have become, it should never ever prevent you from learning because learning is earning!

LEARNING = EARNING so also is LEARN = EARN.

If you take out the letter L from ‘Learning’, you get ‘Earning’, and that has a lot to tell you that the more lenient you are, the more earning you can amass for yourself and your business.

In relation to the above analogy, the word “KNOWLEDGE” has so a great meaning beyond what everyone of us are familiar with. I will break it down a bit so you could get my idea and run with it.

THE KNOWLEDGE EQUATION

Knowledge = Know + (L) + Edge

Where L stands for LEARNING, that has a lot to tell us that we cannot get knowledge of anything without first learning it. And back to KNOW, what you know is what is going to give you an EDGE over everyone else.

You can continue to learn and be inspired by other entrepreneur achievements, no matter their level, whether they be billionaires, millionaires or just a startup entrepreneur – there’s always a lesson to be learnt from others everyday.

Associate with Negative Individuals

Show me your friends, and I will tell you frankly who you are and the possibilities of who you’d become in the next 5-10 years to come. There’s no gain-saying there, you are an average of your five closest friends. If you want to be a millionaire, you’ve got to associate yourself with people who are already earning the millions you’re desiring.

Let me emphasize on that so you could understand what I mean.

Count your first 5 best friends, then evaluate how much they are worth; level of education; thinking pattern; business orientation and risk-taking capabilities (how they view taking risk), and et al. Now that you’ve come to realization of the kind of friends you’re moving with, now, evaluate yourself and see if you are in anyway averaged the sumtotal of your friends worth (physically and psychologically). If you are not, that means you’ve got to change your friends.

People who constantly making excuses, complaining about negative outlook should be avoided like a plague. Surround yourself with likeminded people who are focused and determined as you are.

There’s a Yoruba adage which says;

“if you want to run fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go with people.”

Wake up without a plan

Time management is crucial in being a successful entrepreneur. You need to prioritize and set goals for each task that needs to get done fast. If you are finding it difficult to plan your day, you are going to be in trouble. Effective time management is peculiar to your business success. The secret to having a plan for everyday is to have a to-do list that you update regularly.

Be scared to make changes and adapt
