You are here again, I mean in the month of May. Despite the coronavirus outbreak, you are still alive, you should Thank God for Calvary. You are lucky to have made it thus far.
You may be thinking; How can I thank God at a time like this?
David said,
“I will thank God at all times and His praises will continually be in my mouth.”
Songs of David, The Psalmist
In Revelation 1:12-18, the greatest battle ever fought since the creation of man was fought at the Calvary. It was a battle between the force of darkness and the man who said “I am the light of the world.” Even on that day, the Bible recorded that the sun refuses to shine. But three days later, the light became completely victorious over the darkness – is that not worth thanking God for?
Today, gaining an inspiration from Pastor Adeboye’s ministration (Thank God for Calvary) that touched my heart as regards praising and thanking God for what he’s done and about to do, I will he itemizing four reasons to keep thanking God for the cross of Calvary.
4 Reasons to Thank God for Calvary
Constantly, let us thank God for:
1. Blood
The Blood that was shed at Calvary that took our sins away. 1 John 1:7. Blood of Jesus washes a way sins but the one shed on Calvary cannot be underestimated – it does more than washing alone. Not only is the blood efficacious in washing away our sins but that blood is still giving us victory over satan till date. The blood also give us access to God the father.
In Hebrews 10:19-22, before Calvary, only the high priest can enter into the holiest. The veil that cover the holiest was rent from the top to the bottom at Calvary.
And today, it is easier to see Jesus than to see some heads of states.
To see Him, You can go on your knees in one minute and gain access to the holiest because of the blood shed at Calvary.
Exodus 12:13, when the angel of death sees the blood, they passed over the Israelites.
You can claim with all boldness that because of the blood of Jesus Christ, no virus will come to your house.
2. Stripes (the healing stripes)
Isaiah 53:1-5
The prophesy of Isaiah didn’t come to pass until after about hundred years at the Calvary.
1 Peter 2:24
All manners of fevers in the world can be put into 37 categories. All manners of cancer can be put into the same categories. All many of sicknesses in the world can be put into 37 categories. Now imagine someone who took all those stripes!
Claim this now,
By His stripes, I receive my healing.
Thank you Jesus for your stripes made available for any form of sickness or diseases known and unknown.
3. The name of Jesus
It is only after Calvary that he was given a name that was above every other name. Philippians 2:5-11.
It was after Calvary that we can read John 14:14 and smile.
Read John 16:21, Acts 3:1-3 also.
The power to use that name is available to us right now because of Calvary.
Mark 16:14-18 In his name, you can cast out demons and lay hands on the sick and they’d recover.
4. Victory over death
It was at Calvary that Jesus Christ gave us victory over death. Revelation 1:18
1 Cor 15:54-57 The sting of death is sin and Jesus Christ has taken away all our sins.
According to Hebrews 2:14-15,
You don’t begin to live until you have lost the fear of death.
Affirmations
Death does not have the final say over me and my family.
Jesus has defeated the one who has the power of death, the devil.
Death is not meant to be feared. Death lost it all at Calvary to Jesus.
A true child of God knows that when you leave this world you are going into a wedding of the bridegroom above. Your husband has the key of death. You cannot die.
You cannot die until your days come because the bridegroom has the key of death.
Why thank God because of Calvary
If you can relate to Calvary, you can easily relate with the Father.
